What's a "Grunt Deck"?
Some people may be asking what is a "Grunt Deck"?
The Canadian Press has interviewed Allyson McGrane, Neanderthal Arts Festival co-producer, asking her that very question.
The festival is creating a dedicated space for smartphone addicts — a so-called "Grunt Deck" in a theatre balcony — where they can tell the world about the plays unfolding on stage in real time.
"We want to attract young audiences" — people under 40 who use their mobile devices constantly and might want to tweet about what they're seeing, explained festival co-producer Allyson McGrane.
"It's a different way to experience art. It's not good or bad, it's just different."
